Wind-generating capacity in Finland grew about 100 percent per year. As the wind energy industry continues to grow, it will provide many opportunities for companies in search of new business. The development objective of the Windtek Project are Installation Logistics, Operation and Maintenance business of Wind Park. The project aims to develop the business opportunities, create new business and improve contacts between companies, turbine manufacturers and university of applied sciences.

The project has two components. The first component is wind farm logistic. This component consists of the following sub-components: Study of potential subcontractor, study of optimize logistics in Wind Park and meet the Vendor. The second component Operation and Maintenance development consists of the following sub-components: Subcontractor study, the concepts of subcontracting, analysis of Wind Farm Operation & Maintenance service and Operation & Maintenance Business Development.

Results of the project are increase of international co-operations between Companies, New Business Opportunities and promotion of low-carbon lifestyles. Satakunta region will become one of the leading Wind Power Installation, Operation and Maintenance Clusters in Finland.
