VIISAAT

The VIISAAT project aims to develop sustainable and innovative solutions that help SMEs succeed in a changing operating environment shaped by climate change. The project provides SMEs and their value chains with practical information on climate change preparedness and adaptation, as well as on improving sustainability reporting and using sustainability data to support decision-making.

What does the project do?

The VIISAAT project provides companies with knowledge and expertise to prevent and manage climate-related risks and to strengthen disaster preparedness and resilience.

The project will develop a climate-resilient management process model to support companies in adapting to climate change and strengthening their climate resilience. The model will serve as a tool for strategic planning and decision-making, helping companies and their value chains manage climate-related risks and adapt to changing conditions. It will provide practical approaches and tools that companies can integrate into their strategic planning and decision-making.

VIISAAT will identify and pilot innovative digital solutions that facilitate sustainability reporting and collaboration across value chains while promoting the effective use of sustainability data.

The project will also develop a set of methods tailored to SMEs, helping them monitor changes in their operating environment, strengthen their competitiveness and incorporate climate resilience into strategic planning. In addition, VIISAAT will develop methods and tools for collaboration across value chains and with stakeholders, enabling companies and their partners to prepare for and adapt to climate change together.

Partners, funding and project duration

The VIISAAT – Strong Climate Resilience, Innovative Adaptation and Adaptive Action project (R02187) is coordinated by the Pori Unit of the University of Turku School of Economics (TSE Pori), with Prizztech Oy as a project partner.

The project is funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) as part of Finland’s Innovation and Skills in Finland 2021–2027 programme, with funding administered through the Regional Council of Satakunta.

Project duration: 1 September 2025 – 31 May 2028
