NextCircle

The NextCircle project aims to strengthen the capacity of family businesses in the Baltic Sea Region to successfully manage ownership transitions. Successful ownership transitions can help ensure business continuity, safeguard jobs and strengthen regional vitality.

The project develops practical tools, training and operating models to help businesses, business support organisations and public-sector actors manage ownership transitions in a structured and systematic way.

NextCircle encourages ownership transitions and supports young people’s interest in continuing family businesses. At the same time, ownership transition is seen as an opportunity for business renewal through digitalisation, innovation and sustainable development. The aim is to turn ownership transition from a risk into an opportunity that strengthens business competitiveness, encourages young people to remain in their regions and supports local vitality.

Prizztech is particularly responsible for developing methods and a toolkit to support ownership transitions.

NextCircle is a joint Interreg Baltic Sea Region project involving Finland, Lithuania, Latvia and Poland. The project is led by Kaunas Science and Technology Park in Lithuania. The other project partners are Prizztech Oy from Finland, Joniskis Tourism and Business Information Centre from Lithuania, Vidzeme Planning Region from Latvia and Piaseczno Municipality from Poland.

The project runs from 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2028. The total project budget is EUR 500,000, of which Prizztech’s budget is EUR 105,759. The project is funded by the European Union through the Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programme (80%), with the remaining 20% provided as co-financing by the project partners.
