Growth Opportunities in the Security and Defence Sector in Satakunta

As a result of NATO membership, defence spending targets are being significantly increased. The growth of the security and defence sector is creating new business opportunities for companies. Many products required by the defence sector are dual-use products, meaning that they can be used for both civilian and military purposes.

The Growth Opportunities in the Security and Defence Sector in Satakunta project aims to increase awareness of the sector and support the growth and development of companies in Satakunta by:

1.  providing information on growth and product development opportunities in the security and defence sector, as well as procurement practices, requirements and supply chains within the sector

2.  identifying and building regional and national business and expert networks to support companies in their growth

3.  mapping and compiling information on the expertise, strengths and development needs of the Satakunta region from the perspective of the security and defence sector

The project will increase awareness of the business opportunities offered by the growing security and defence sector and provide companies with information on how to become part of its supply chains. The primary beneficiaries are SMEs seeking new business opportunities within the security and defence sector.

The project will build regional and national networks that create new contacts and improve opportunities for companies in Satakunta to pursue new business opportunities. It will also strengthen companies’ capabilities for growth, internationalisation and innovation.
