The Digital Business Advisory project

The Digital Business Advisory project develops both the digital capabilities of SMEs and the skills of business advisors to support companies throughout their digital development journey. The project will create a nationwide advisory model that will significantly improve companies’ access to digital advisory services tailored to their individual needs across Finland.

Business advisors need stronger expertise in digitalisation and digital business models to effectively support companies in adopting digital tools and developing digital business processes. Advisors must be equipped to help companies take advantage of new technologies regardless of their stage of development – whether they need support with business planning and growth, operational development or business succession.

The project will create a Digital Advisor’s Toolkit, bringing together effective tools and methods for supporting companies in digitalisation and the adoption of new technologies. During the project, the toolkit will be piloted with a network of business advisors and 150 companies. The pilot will help a broad range of companies move forward on their digital journey while ensuring that the advisory model is suitable for different industries and the diverse needs of companies. As a result, Finnish companies will have significantly better access to digital advisory services that meet their specific needs.

Based on the development work carried out during the project, a Guide to Digitalisation, Data and AI Advisory Services will also be produced. The guide and the Digital Capability Development Toolkit will remain available to business advisory organisations throughout Finland and to companies seeking to strengthen their digital capabilities even after the project has ended.
