Gas and Hydrogen Economy 2030

The aim of the project was to update the Satakunta Gas Economy Plan 2025.

The project explored new opportunities in the gas economy, particularly related to the growing production of wind power, hydrogen, and P2X technologies. It identified the key actors and cooperation opportunities within the gas economy in the Pori region. Special attention was given to identifying and developing gas- and renewable energy-related demonstration sites and projects that support major investments in the Pori region.

As a result of the project, the Gas and Hydrogen Economy Plan 2030 was created. The plan outlines how the gas and hydrogen economy in the Pori region will be developed in the future. It compiles key investment plans and initiatives related to the gas economy and sets targets for gas usage for the year 2030.

The project was implemented between 1 March 2021 and 31 December 2023 and was funded by the Regional Council of Satakunta through the AKKE funding programme for supporting the sustainable growth and vitality of regions.
